we can use its status to know how our own years might go, and as Australia is all on fire I assume we all be all on fire all over
20yrs ago, as a recent inductee into the world of professional IT support we were all on-call for y2k, so the rest of teh world could learn from if Australia (‘s computers) all exploded to know if that would be happening world wide.

I worked for a gas company during the Y2K time period, and I was on call for whatever disaster awaited when all the computers would self destruct and the world would end.
I was not at all concerned, as I tried my own test on several computers, including a (very) old laptop I still had f ro m the 80's, with a black and white display, like 128 k ram - I mean OLD. Booted it up, changed the date to Dec 31st 1999 at 11:59pm.......and it rolled right to Jan 1st 2000 with out a so much as a hiccup. I was pretty sure if a computer form the 80's could handle it, the (then) modern systems would be fine........
